Join us for two drop-in evenings investigating mindfulness as a tool for liberation on and off the cushion. Mindfulness has strong origins in the Buddhadharma, but in a secular context it is also deeply influenced by Western understandings of depth psychology and group dynamics, and has evolved over the last thirty-five years in the West as a coherent practice in its own right. Myobun Freinkel, a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction instructor, will share the foundational principles and core practices of mindfulness in two drop-in sessions. Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions, but drop-ins are welcome for either date.
The workshop begins both evenings, Tuesday November 22 and Tuesday, November 29 at 7:45 p.m. Feel free to join us beforehand for zazen from 7 p.m. Beginners and drop-ins are welcome.
