Parinirvana Ceremony

During mid-February, Japanese Buddhist temples observe the death and final passing into Nirvana of the historical Buddha. "Parinirvana" means great extinguishment. What remains in the world after the death of a Buddha is the footprints of his teaching, the Dharma, and the lineage of practitioners that has walked down the same path. Join us Sunday, February 19 during the second half of our morning program, when we will observe Buddha's Parinirvana through ritual and chanting.
