The temple gate is open everyday from dawn to dusk, during which please feel free to enjoy the temple grounds. You may sit on a bench, smell a flower, pick a few figs, make an offering to the Earth spirit, take a meditative walk, etc.

Weekday Daily Practices

From 9am to 4pm on weekdays, you are welcome to come into the temple and share the space with us. You could sit, read a book, copy a sutra, light a stick of incense, white a journal, have a cup of tea, etc.

From September to June, You may also enjoy joining us in sitting, chanting, and other daily scheduled activities:
5:00am - Zazen, Robe Chant, Walking Meditation
6:00 - Zazen
6:40 - Morning Chanting Service
7:20 - Temple Cleaning
8:00 - Oryoki Breakfast
8:30 - Informal Tea (expect for Wednesdays)
11:45 - Mid-day Chanting Service
noon - Lunch
4:00pm - Evening Service

For the months of June and July, morning zazen starts at 6am and midday/evening service is not guaranteed to take place on every weekday:
5:45am - Gates Open
6:00am – Zazen
6:40am – Chanting Service
8:00am – Informal Breakfast
8:30am – Breakfast ends
11:45am - Midday Chanting Service
12:00pm – Lunch

There is no daily practice in the month of August (Sunday Assembly still happens).

All other programming including evening Zazen, classes, and assemblies will be listed separately under Assemblies, Classes, and Talks, or on the calendar.

Sunday Morning Assembly

Sunday assemblies are our most regular large gatherings. Most often it consists of seated meditation, chanting, a Dharma talk and time for the Sangha to connect with one another. You may join at 9 or 10 AM.
