Arts and Crafts of Japan Summer Series

Please join us at Buddha Eye Temple for three workshops introducing traditional arts and crafts of Japan. Take all 3 classes and explore a special project that brings all these techniques together! All workshops are by donation only (suggested donation $3 - $15, no one turned away). Registration required. Please email Jakuen at jovenciodelapaz@gmail.com to register, or if you have any questions. These workshops are appropriate for children when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Calligraphy with Ejo
July 14th
Calligraphy is the ancient and contemplative practice of “beautiful writing.” Explore the basics of using brush and ink, understand the differences in paper and gesture, and practice your skills by exploring the deceptively simple art of drawing an “Enso,” a circle drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create.
