Join us for the robust ceremony of Hossenshiki, in which Novice Priest Jakuen will ascend the teaching seat and engage the Buddha Eye Temple community in ritual Dharma Combat. Over the course of 2-days, the temple will invite distinguished guests from the Soto Zen Buddhist community to hold the ritual space.
Hossenshiki is a time to investigate, examine, and question the Shuso's understanding of the Dharma, as well as celebrate their dedication and ongoing exploration of practice and teaching.
For this ceremony, Jakuen and the community will discuss the "30th Case of the Record of Dongshan."
