A key component of our practice is veneration. We venerate the Buddha Shakyamuni, we venerate other Buddhas across space and time. We venerate spirits, bodhisattvas, deities, and elusive beings. We venerate the ancestors of our lineage, we venerate our teacher and our elders. But what is the deep core of this veneration? While we perform many acts of veneration at the temple, veneration must also take place within our hearts, within each step we take in this life of practice. This class will contemplate and explore the heart of veneration through lectures, discussion, film screenings, and journaling.
