Wild Persimmon

Sunday 9/10
Abbot Ejō McMullen

If you accidentally bite into a wild persimmon your mouth will pucker up, and there will be no way to swallow.  You will spit it out, and then go looking for something tasty.  But if you hang that same persimmon to dry, it will become incredibly sweet.  With nothing added or taken away, the astringency and the sweetness interchange.  This is just the same with life.  No one asked you if you wanted to be born, but here you are biting into life! Join Abbot Ejo McMullen as he discusses the full, round practice of biting into this wild life.
