Jodo-e is very important ceremony where we come together as a community in commemoration and veneration of the Buddha's enlightenment by offering incense, chanting special sutras, and making prostrations together. In this way we orient and honor the emergence of the Awakened One in our world, not as a matter settled in the past, but as one unfolding continuously in every moment.
