A Lifespan is Never Long Nor Short

February 7, 2025 Buddha Eye Temple

Sunday February 9th
Zazen: 9:00am
Ceremony: Chanting, Zazen, & Dharma talk

Led by Abbott Ejo McMullen

In the 16th chapter of the Lotus Sutra entitled "The Lifespan of the Tathagata", Shakyamuni Buddha reveals that although it appears that he was born into this world some decades ago that actually his lifespan is beyond measure.  The orientation of time we conventionally adhere to sees birth as a celebration and death as the end.  The Lotus Sutra is inviting us to reform this view and see with eyes that recognize the immeasurable life of each being.  Join Abbot Ejo McMullen for this entry into the Wondrous Dharma Lotus Flower Sutra.
