This Sunday: Shuso Installation Ceremony
Sunday, October 5th
Zazen 9:00am
Assembly 10:00am
Led by Abbot Ejo McMullen
When there is an appropriate candidate, the Abbot of a temple may ask a novice priest to take central leadership in the practice of the community for a period of time. The priest chosen is known as the Shuso (Head Priest). This is a special opportunity for the community to be guided by and learn from the Shuso. It is also an important formation process for the Shuso. Their service as Shuso marks the end of their novitiate training.
Please join the community this Sunday as we invite Jakuen de la Paz to serve as Shuso for the following year.
