Our Great Ancestor Hyakujo is famous for saying, "A day of no work is a day of no eating!" The zen schools are famous for rigorous cooking, cleaning and cultivation of food. While the corresponding discipline is strict, the purpose is liberation. Join Abbot Ejo McMullen for a discussion of the way work can be a celebration, rather than simply a cumbersome obligation.
