Winter Solstice
Sunday, December 21st
Zazen 9:00am
Ceremony 10:00am
We can see the Winter Solstice as a moment that turns our attention to the transition of the light. From dark to light. And we can also see it as reminder of the continual transition through seasons as our beloved earth rotates around the sun. In this sense of continuous transition, and our continuous connection to, or as Thich Nhat Hanh would say, our continuous “interbeing” with the earth, we can see and feel the Winter Solstice as a kind of mindfulness bell. Not for running from the dark to the light, but celebrating all of the phases of our interbeing. Including the darkness of sleep and roots deep underground and regeneration.
