For the last year, Jakuen has been unfolding the Way in our temple community as a Postulant, one who has set out an intention to consider living the life of a Priest. This Sunday, he will pass through another gate, committing to on-going practice, study, training, and service as a Novice Priest. This ceremony is not only a great encouragement for the ordainee, but for the entire Sangha.

Rohatsu Sesshin, a 7 day silent meditation intensive, is our most rigorous of the year. “Rohatsu” means the eighth day of the twelfth month, when Shakyamuni Buddha was said to awaken to the Way upon seeing the morning star. Registration is required for meals and overnight stay. Please fill out this registration form and send it to office@buddhaeye.org, or drop it off in person at the temple.
